B means that I can receive a kidney from someone with O or B blood type. There a few stages to becoming a living donor. First step compatible blood types. Then tissue sampling. If the donors tissue and my tissue "get along" and don't fight each other that is considered a negative cross match. In this instance the negative actual means something good.

One of my potential donors had a negative cross match with me and will move into the next phase of testing next week. Fingers and toes crossed. Maybe I will even braid my hair. One step closer to a new lease on life.
